Abstract Submission
Abstracts can be submitted under any of the following topics:
- Cariology
- Dental anomalies
- Dental anxiety and behavioral management
- Dental materials
- Dental Trauma
- Endodontics
- Epidemiology
- Growth and development - Orthodontics
- Oral medicine and pathology
- Prevention
- Public Health
- Special Needs Patients
- Syndromes and genetics
- Other
The deadline for submission of abstracts is: Tuesday, March 8, 2011
PRESENTATION TYPES
Selected abstracts will be presented as oral or poster presentations.
Please bear in mind that the Scientific Committee will review all submitted abstracts and decide as to the final form of presentation (oral or poster) as well as the topic the abstract will be presented under.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION / GENERAL INFORMATION
Given that the abstracts will be reproduced in the Abstracts Book exactly in the form they are submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines, based on the author guidelines of the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry at www.wiley.com/bw/submit.asp?ref=0960‐7439
- The deadline for the submission of abstracts is March 8th, 2011. Abstracts submitted after this date will not be accepted.
- Abstracts should be originals. Abstracts will be considered if they have not been published previously in a peer review journal, or presented at a previous IAPD Congress.
- In order to submit an abstract, the presenting author has to be registered to the Congress. In case your abstract will not be accepted for presentation by the Scientific Committee, the Professional Congress Organiser will fully reimburse the registration fee.
- One presenter can present ONLY ONE paper, but participate as a co-author in more.
- The author indicated as contact person will be notified about the successful submission of the abstract within three (3) days from the day of submission. In case that you have not received such notification within three (3) days from the abstract submission, please contact the Professional Congress Organiser.
- Submitted abstracts will be reviewed according to the Scientific Committee’s rulings. The author indicated as contact person will be informed on the status of the submitted abstract (accepted / rejected), its presentation type, date and time by April 25th, 2011, via e–mail.
- Please read carefully and follow the instructions, as incomplete submissions will not be considered.
- All papers and abstracts submitted become the property of the IAPD unless prior alternate arrangements have been made with the Editor of the International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry (IJPD). The author needs to affirm his agreement to the following:
- Any work with human or animal subjects reported in this abstract complies with the guiding principles for experimental procedures found in the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association
- This work has not been published or presented in a previous IAPD Congress.
- The International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry (IJPD) has permission to publish this abstract in printed and/or electronic formats
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Given that the abstracts will be reproduced in the Abstracts CD-Rom exactly in the form they are submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines:
A. Format
- Language: English
- Abstract text word limit: 250 words (names and affiliation details are excluded)
- Suggested font: Tahoma, size 10 cpi
- Text justification: full
- Spacing between the title, the author(s) and the abstract text: Single
- Line spacing of the text: Single
- Abstract title typed in UPPER CASE
- Surname(s) of the author(s) typed in lower case preceded by the first name(s) written in full (e.g. Maria Reynolds)
- Co-authors of an abstract must be no more than six (6) in total.
- The presenting author’s name should be in bold.
- The affiliation details of all authors [department, institution/hospital, city/town, state (if relevant) and country should be typed under the names, with the corresponding indices, in an order one after the other.
- The abstract should follow the below standard structure (the titles being typed in lower case and in bold):

REVIEW PROCESS
All submissions will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and evaluated in terms of their appropriateness and their overall quality. Abstracts will be assessed on their acceptability and eligibility as oral or poster presentations in a constructive and educational way.
